Do I need to book an appointment?
We would strongly recommend booking an appointment as we work on a one–to–one basis, to ensure you receive the time, privacy, and attention you deserve. Walk-ins are welcome midweek, however there may be a wait should we already have appointments booked in. It’s always advisable to book in advance, especially during busy periods (Saturdays).
When is the ideal time to buy my dress?
Our dresses are made to order and can take up to 6 months to arrive. Ideally your dress would be here a good few months before your alterations appointment to avoid any unnecessary stress. Also knowing what you are wearing for your special day can also influence other choices such as flowers, hair and make up and your colour scheme. For these reasons, the majority of our brides order their dresses 12 to 18 months before the big day.
I’m getting married quickly and don’t have time to order, what options do I have?
Firstly, don’t panic. All our dresses are available to buy off the peg if time is of the essence and we also have our sample sale rail dresses which are available to buy and take away the same day.
What if I want to lose weight?
There can be a large period of time between ordering your dress and your wedding day. If your weight changes, our amazingly talented seamstresses can alter a dress and take in up to two dress sizes if needed. If you are planning on losing weight, please mention this at your appointment so we can discuss the options available.
What sizes are your dresses? Will I be able to try dresses on in my size?
Our samples range from size UK 6 -UK 24. Don’t worry about sizing as we are here to give you a helping hand and guide you though the process. Wedding dresses vary from high street sizes so you may be trying on dresses which are up to two sizes bigger than your usual size. Once you have found ‘the one’ we will take your individual measurements and order your gown accordingly. More often than not brides do not fit into a standard size fits all category. This is when our expert seamstress will take over to ensure a perfect fit.
I’m getting married abroad, is that going to be a problem?
Not at all. We will discuss all the pro and cons of different styles/fabrics/packaging of our gowns but ultimately, your dream dress is your dream dress so even if it isn’t a traditional dress for the setting, we will ensure your perfect gown is securely boxed and ready for you to jet off to say, ‘I do’.
What should I bring to my appointment?
Just yourself and maybe a couple of people whose opinions you value and trust. Don’t worry about shoes or fancy underwear however, if you have nude or white it is a little less distracting than bright pink polka dot underwear!
Can I take photographs during the appointment?
We do allow this as a source of reference, although we strongly advise you not to. Mobile devices do not capture the beautiful detail of the dresses and you must remember the dresses may not fit you perfectly at this point. Also your hair and make up will be different to how you plan to style on your wedding day. We always stress the importance of how you feel in the mirror; that’s what matters. If it makes you feel giddy and possibly a tad emotional then it speaks for itself. Remember we all deal with happy emotions differently!
Do you require a deposit or full payment?
All ordered and full price dresses require a 50% deposit. Sale dresses and accessories require full payment. Flexible payment plans can be discussed.
When will I have my fittings done?
Ideally, we like to get you booked in with our seamstresses about 6-10 weeks before the big day. On average brides usually require between two and four fittings. This depends on what needs doing. All future appointments will be arranged directly with the seamstress.
How much are your dresses?
We have a lovely selection of dresses ranging from £695 and £2,500 – the average price sitting at £1600. We also have our sample sale rail. These gowns are available to buy and take away the same day and are priced between £300 and £800.
